Senait is deeply fascinated by human behavior and how it intersects with society, culture, and community dynamics. She is passionate about creating effective and efficient MHPSS programs and institutional systems that serve society. She uses her skills to bring about positive social change, leadership, knowledge sharing, and strategic engagement, envisioning a better world for children, men, women, and youth. She believes that by working with these groups, there will be a better future for elders as well.
She has acquired and delivered various training on topics such as leadership, conflict management and resolution, workplace productivity, effective communication for health outcomes, intentional growth, community social healing tools, trauma-informed resilience frameworks, stress and trauma awareness, security, relationships, identity, resilience, community facilitation skills, and more.
Senait finds joy in serving people, advocating for mental health justice, and creating better experiences for others. She is committed to giving back to her community, always striving for excellence and investing in continuous learning and development.
Over the past years, she has worked in diverse contexts, collaborating with various organizations and making significant professional and volunteer contributions to the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) sector through community-based trauma healing projects in conflict-affected regions of Ethiopia. She has worked with organizations such as Plan International, Pact Ethiopia, Mercy Corps, Life and Peace Institute, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), International Rescue Committee (IRC), USAID, British Council, and the Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association. These experiences have given her a broad perspective and a deep understanding of the complexities of community work and implementing impactful initiatives.
She is a peace ambassador for the Global Peace Chain and her educational background and professional experiences have equipped her with the ability to think critically and collaborate effectively. Her passion lies in creating positive social impact, and she is committed to leveraging her diverse skill set and experiences to make a meaningful difference in society.
The most gratifying part of my job is when trauma transformed into a story. We, as humans, cannot forget what happened to us, but we can let go of the pain at our own pace.
